Bulk olive oil: the solution suited to your buyer profile

In brief

Every bulk olive oil buyer has a different specification: the bottler looks for a consistent base to re-bottle, the buying group wants IFS/BRC-certified private-label volume, the Gulf importer requires halal and Arabic labelling, retail demands a central listing, HORECA favours can formats and value for money. Zitouna Export supplies IOC/EU-certified Tunisian olive oil, with per-lot COA, in flexitank, IBC or drums, from €3.80/kg FOB. This page directs each profile to its dedicated solution.

Why think by buyer type?

A "standard" bulk olive oil does not exist: what matters is the fit between your business and the offer. Format, variety, certifications, labelling, incoterm and payment method vary radically depending on whether you are a packer, distributor, regional importer or restaurateur.

We have structured our offer by buyer segment so that each one finds directly:

  • the suitable format (bulk flexitank, IBC, drums, or packaged under brand);
  • the relevant variety and sensory profile (mild Chemlali, polyphenol-rich Chetoui, award-winning Oueslati);
  • the blocking certifications of its channel (IFS/BRC for retail, halal for the Gulf, Ecocert/USDA organic);
  • the commercial terms (MOQ, incoterm, payment) usual to its business.

FAQ — Bulk olive oil use cases

Which types of buyers do you supply?

Bottlers/packers, buying groups, distribution networks and wholesalers, organic brands, Gulf importers, retail/private label, HORECA/foodservice, food industry and cosmetics. Each segment has a suitable offer in format, variety, certifications and terms.

What is the difference between a bottler and a buying group?

The bottler buys bulk to re-bottle it under its own brand; the buying group lists an oil (often private label) for a network of member stores or points of sale. Retail certifications (IFS/BRC) are more systematically required on the buying-group side.

Do you need specific certifications depending on the channel?

Yes. Retail and private label almost systematically require IFS Food or BRCGS; the Gulf requires halal certification and Arabic labelling; an organic brand requires Ecocert (EU 2018/848) or USDA NOP. We provide the certifications specific to each channel.

What is the price of bulk olive oil regardless of segment?

The price starts around €3.80/kg FOB, then varies by volume, format, variety, incoterm and harvest. Premium segments (Gulf, organic, single-variety Chetoui) are quoted above the entry level.

Which format to choose depending on my business?

The flexitank (~22,000 L) for large bulk volumes (bottler, buying group, wholesaler), the IBC (1,000 L) or drums (~200 L) for intermediate volumes, and packaged under brand (5 L can, bottle) for HORECA and private label. We adapt to the channel.

Do you serve import to the Gulf?

Yes. Thanks to the GAFTA agreement (0% duty), halal certification and Arabic labelling with embossed dates, we meet the specification of Gulf importers, who accept premium positioning. See Gulf importer.

Can you pack under private label (MDD)?

Yes, via our private label / OEM offer: bottling under your brand, catalogue or bespoke packaging, with IFS/BRC for mass retail. You remain the owner of your brand.

Do you offer organic for all segments?

Yes, on a separate organic line with Ecocert (EU 2018/848), USDA NOP and EU Organic certification. Organic is available in bulk as well as packaged, for organic brands, retail, HORECA and importers. See bulk organic oil.

Do you supply industry and cosmetics?

Yes. The food industry uses our oil as a stable, defect-free ingredient; cosmetics looks for consistent, traceable lots. Precise specifications are framed case by case via the quote.

How do you guarantee quality consistency?

Each lot is analysed by an IOC-accredited laboratory and delivered with its COA. The reference sample validated at the outset serves as the comparison basis for every delivery, which prevents any profile drift between two lots, whatever the segment.

Do you deliver internationally depending on my market?

Yes: EU (EUR.1 certificate, 0% within the TN quota), Gulf (GAFTA 0%), North America (FDA/FSMA), Quebec and beyond. The customs regime and labelling are adapted to each destination.

What MOQ depending on my profile?

In bulk, the MOQ starts at 1 flexitank, 2 IBC or 10 drums. Packaged/private label, expect rather 3,000 to 6,000 units per SKU for an optimal unit cost. The HORECA MOQ is more flexible depending on the can format.

Where to start if my profile is not listed?

Describe your business, your volume and your market in the quote form. We identify the suitable format, variety and terms, and send you a dated quotation with a reference sample and COA.
